Process and Timeline

Document Consultation & Verification
The applicant must have KITAS/KITAP as the sponsor of the dependent visa application. Also include a passport with a validity period of ≥18 months, sponsorship letter, marriage certificate, proof of account with sponsorship funds (at least US$2,000). Estimated time: 2-3 working days.

Application for e-VITAS / VITAS
Submit documents via the e-visa portal or the Indonesian Embassy to apply for the visa. Estimated time: 7-14 working days.

Arrive in Indonesia & KITAS conversion
Immigration registration and KITAS activation + SKTT. Estimated time: 5-10 working days.
*The total estimated time to obtain a dependent visa is about 3-6 weeks, depending on document completeness.
Important Consideration
- A dependent Visa does not authorize the recipient to work or engage in commercial activities in Indonesia.
- A legally valid document, translated by a sworn translator, is required to prove the familial relationship.
- After at least 3 years of consecutive stay, the Dependent KITAS can be upgraded to KITAP (Permanent Residence Permit).

Does a dependent visa allow me to work in Indonesia?
No, it does not. This visa is only for residence purposes, not for work.

Yes. The documents must be legalized and translated into Indonesian by a sworn translator.
How long is the validity period of the dependent visa?
Generally, it follows the validity period of the main sponsor’s KITAS, usually 12 months and can be extended.
Can this visa be extended every year?
Yes. A family KITAS is extendable annually, provided the primary sponsor’s residence permit remains valid.
Can I apply for this visa from abroad?
